The Gulfport Casino is now on the National Register of Historic Places.

The casino, which is located across from Boca Ciega Bay, has served as a community dance hall and meeting place for over a century.

The Gulfport Pavilion still has most of its characteristics from the 1930s, with the exception of a dance band pavilion, which was added in 1950.

State officials said the casino is integral to the development and history of the Gulfport community.

Other Florida sites added to the register include the Moultrie Church and Cemetery in St. Augustine, the Dyches House in Lady Lake, the Pine Level Town Site in Desoto County, the Old Belle Glade Town Hall in Palm Beach County and the Pine-Aire Lodge in Bokeelia.
