Police said a teenage girl found her parents dead from an apparent murder-suicide in their Largo home Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the parents as 46-year-old Rochelle Tatrai and Sean Ray. According to officers they had a common law marriage and two daughters -- the 16-year-old that found them and also a 20-year-old.

The teen is with relatives, police said.

According to Largo police, a utilities worker was in the 13100 block of Thoroughbred Loop when he was flagged down by a teenage girl who told him she had just arrived home and found her parents dead in the house.

Police said both Tatrai and Ray were dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

"We responded here and did locate a male and female," said Lt. Paul Amodeo, Largo Police Department. "Early indications are and preliminary investigations tend to support that it's a murder-suicide event."

Neighbors said they are shocked by the news.

"We have a nice neighborhood," said resident Maria Soto. "The guy who is in charge of the neighborhood works for the police. So this is a nice place."

Tatrai was the president and CEO of Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services. The agency released the following statement:

"With our deepest regret and through heart wrenching pain, we acknowledge the loss of our CEO, Rochelle Tatrai-Ray, who, as has been reported, was apparently the victim of a domestic violence murder. Rochelle had the heart of the highest calibered licensed mental health therapist which is how she began her career.  She never lost touch with that spirit as she rose in leadership, serving our agency for 13 years through hard work, dedication, grit and an uncommon love for the people served by her agency and the people she worked with on her GCJFCS team.

"This is an unthinkable time for our Gulf Coast family and we ask that Rochelle’s daughters and family be kept in the prayers, hearts and minds of all who are in range of this story. Her loss is unimaginable and it will be felt by our entire staff, our Board of Directors, our funders and anyone who knew her."
