Tampa International adds new flights to the Bahamas

Travelers from Tampa looking for a quicker route to the Bahamas are in luck.

Starting in February, Silver Airways will offer two trips a week to the Bahamas from Tampa International Airport.

Silver Airways, which exclusively flies between Florida and the Bahamas, will add Tampa flights to Marsh Harbour in the Abaco Islands on Saturdays and Sundays.

Tampa International officials say island destinations are a top priority.

The new service is scheduled to start on Valentine's Day 2015.
