The Public Service Commission has given Florida Power and Light approval to charge customers for a fracking investment.

The utility wants to charge customers for its investment in natural gas production.

Duke Energy is also exploring the idea. Duke says it was watching the FPL case.

FPL's natural gas drilling projects will happen in southeastern Oklahoma. The company says in the long run, the project would save customers millions of dollars.

Both utilities say they are trying to bring stability to volatile natural gas prices.
