Two Hernando County men have been charged with identity theft after authorities say they used a neighbor's debit card.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, 48-year-old Randal Scott Napier and 24-year-old Michael Anthony Gonzalez are both facing charges after unauthorized use of Linda Tandy's debit card. Napier is Tandy's neighbor in Spring Hill.

Deputies said Tandy reported unauthorized transactions on her Chase debit card in mid October. After canceling the debit card, a new card was mailed to Tandy's residence, along with a PIN number for the card.  Both were stolen, deputies said.

The stolen debit cards were used to make seven separate fraudulent transactions totaling $889.01.

Through their investigation deputies were able to track surveillance video of the cards being used at an area Walmart and Regions Bank.

When Tandy was shown the video, she identified both Napier and Gonzalez.

Warrants were obtained for the arrest of both Gonzalez and Napier. Authorities did not indicate Gonzalez's relationship to Tandy or Napier.

Patrol deputies located Napier and Gonzalez at their homes and placed them under arrest.

Napier is facing charges of fraudulent use of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification and grand theft.

Gonzalez has been charged with organized scheme to defraud.
