Today is the last day of fall, and it'll be warmer than normal throughout the Bay area.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Alan Winfield, the afternoon highs will range from the low 70s near the coast and bay to the mid to upper 70s in inland areas. Skies will be partly cloudy and boating conditions will be ideal.

There's no rain in the forecast, but that will change in the coming days.

"There's a wave of low pressure toward the other side of the Gulf, and it's marching toward Alabama, Georgia and North Florida," Winfield said. "Here in our area, we'll savage a good looking Saturday. Then, tomorrow, showers will push into the forecast."

The rain chance will climb to 30 percent tomorrow, 50 percent Monday, 60 percent Tuesday and 80 percent on Christmas Eve, according to the Bay News 9 forecast.

"And then, Christmas Eve, a strong cold front moves in, shuts down the rain and sets us up for a good looking Christmas Day." Winfield said. "In fact, Christmas Day, it'll be dry out there and breezy - just a little cool, with a high of 69."
