High wire daredevil Nik Wallenda finished his latest stunt in Sarasota on Saturday as part of a big promotion.

He received a warm welcome from his hometown of Sarasota.

As the performer did what he does best: walked the tightrope -- this time over the newly renovated Sarasota Ford Car Dealership for local fans to enjoy.

“I just like watching him I just think he is cool,” said Olivia Gumpel.

Carly Stella Wade, 7, had heard that Wallenda was going to do something to really wow the crowd.

“He was probably going to order a pizza because someone said he was going to order a pizza,” said Wade.

Pizza delivery did not meet him on the high wire but he did manage to take a rather impressive selfie.

Wallenda is walking 100 feet up in the air, but it’s not the highest walk he has done. In Chicago he was 600 feet up in the air walking in between the towers and for part of that walk he was blindfolded

Once Wallenda made it across the rope and back on the ground, he talked with us about his Chicago adventure.

“Chicago was awesome, you know, fulfilling another dream of walking blindfolded breaking another two world records, very very exciting,” Wallenda said.

Now he is just excited to be with his local fans.

“I consider it an honor to be able to perform here,” said Wallenda.

An honor shared by those who look up to the brave daredevil.
