The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the man arrested after the death of a Brandon woman.

Michael Jason Fields, 33, of Valrico, was taken into custody and charged with second degree murder. Officials said he reported finding the body.

The body of 32-year-old Christina Mahzamani was found between two houses in the 2700 block of St. Cloud Oaks Drive in Valrico on Tuesday afternoon. Fields later admitted to deputies that Mahzamani was his girlfriend.

Investigators said Mahzamani was last seen on Sunday, and her family reported her missing Monday. Deputies were looking for her when the call came in.

When deputies arrived, Fields pointed out the body between his home and his neighbor's home on St. Cloud Oaks Drive. Deputies said Mahzamani died from upper-body trauma.

Crime scene technicians and homicide detectives later found drag marks on the grass and leaves leading from the backyard toward the middle of the two houses.

Also, a cinder block with what was identified as blood was discovered directly behind the St. Cloud Oaks Drive home Fields lives at with the home's owners. Detectives also said a partial shoe print found at the scene was consistent with a pair of tennis shoes owned by Fields and pajama pants with blood on them were found in his bedroom.

Fields was arrested at the scene and later booked in the Hillsborough County Jail early Wednesday.

He is being held without bond.
