Will Democrat Alex Sink run against David Jolly in the November general election?

National Democrats are pushing for Sink to do just that.

Last night, the Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee called and left Sink a message asking her to try again.

DCCC chairman Steve Israel said "if Alex Sink decides to run, she will win November. We haven't started thinking about who else may be viable."

But so far, no answer from Sink. The national Democrats say they're giving her space to decide.

In the meantime, Republican David Jolly will officially become Pinellas County's new representative Thursday when he is sworn in in Washington DC.

“I recognize that nearly half of the county supported another candidate. My job begins today and it is top prove to everybody who voted for me who voted for Alex, who voted for Lucas, it is to convince them that I'm the right person for the job and I'm committed to doing this job the right way," he said.

Jolly is now the incumbent but who will be his opponent in November?

One name being tossed around by political insiders is Jessica Ehrlich. The St. Pete lawyer once sought the congressional seat but was muscled out of the race by big money behind Alex Sink.

Jessica Ehrlich tells our partners at the Tampa Bay Times that she will have an announcement on this race later this week.

In the meantime, the waiting game is on to see if Alex Sink will run again. Her campaign did not return any of our calls Wednesday.
