Splendid weather, floats, marching bands and even a few Bay News 9 staffers were part of Monday’s Strawberry Festival Parade.

The parade began in downtown Plant City and wound its way toward the festival grounds. It’s an event natives like Donald Humphrey just couldn't miss.

“I’ve been coming here for 30 years,” Humphries said. “It’s my hometown.”

Bay News 9 anchors Al Ruechel, Veronica Cintron and Erica Riggins all rode on the station's float, along with reporters Erin Maloney and Ashley Jeffery and meteorologist Josh Linker.

The parade started at Evers Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. It traveled north on Evers Street and west on Reynolds Street past the Festival grounds, and then south on Sammonds Road.
