An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal Tampa apartment shooting.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Demetrick Devaughn Anglin, 18, of Tampa was taken into custody late Tuesday.
Anglin is being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and attempted robbery.
Detectives said their investigation revealed that Anglin planned to rob Kortney Jerry during a drug deal. Jerry, 33, was found dead just before 3 a.m. Tuesday at the Avesta Apartments, located at 2016 131st Avenue E.
Deputies said witnesses reported hearing an argument and then gunshots.
When deputies arrived, they found Jerry's body near the complex's parking lot and a nearby Lincoln Town Car with an open trunk trunk full of drugs.
