Clearwater Police Chief Tony Holloway honored letter carrier Thornell Strawn -- known better as "T" -- at the post office on Hercules Avenue Thursday morning.

Strawn was recognized for his efforts on Feb. 26 when his actions helped police nab a burglary suspect.

Strawn called 911 when he saw a suspicious subject entering a backyard on Corona Avenue and then stayed on the line with police communications operators, relaying what he saw and heard until we arrived.

Police were able to quickly get to the scene, and with the help of a K9, apprehend the suspect.

Strawn was joined by his wife and daughters and was also honored by U.S. Postal Service officials.
