All watches posted for the Bay area have been canceled.

A severe thunderstorm watch for Polk County expired shortly after 5:30 p.m. The other Bay area counties had been under a severe thunderstorm watch, but that expired at 4 p.m.

Hillsborough and Pinellas counties were both under tornado warnings earlier in the day as waterspouts had been reported in Tampa Bay. Those warnings were allowed to expire.

Gusty winds were reported in parts of Pinellas County, with one report indicating gusts of 44 mph in Clearwater Beach.

Storm damage was reported on the 11100 block of Salina Drive in Brooksville. Bay News 9 meteorologists said the damage was most likely caused from straight-line winds but a weak tornado could have possibly come through that area also. There was also damage reported on Crowell Road and Halmark Avenue.

The storms moved into the Bay area as an area of low pressure came onshore from the Gulf of Mexico.

It will remain windy and cloudy Saturday morning with drier conditions later in the day.  A small fast-moving shower will still be possible.

Easter Sunday will be partly sunny and drier with high temperatures in the upper 70s.
