A Riverview man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from his work as a mortgage broker.

Alejandro Matos, 43, faces up to 30 years in prison for conspiracy to commit wire, bank and mail fraud.

Prosecutors said Matos was working for a Tampa company in 2007 when he helped prepare and submit loan applications for two property purchases by the same client.

Those applications contained fraudulent information about the buyer's income and employment, investigators said.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.
