'Barefoot Sunday' shoe drive returns to Bradenton church

Christ Episcopal Church is holding its third annual "Barefoot Sunday" shoe drive through Sunday.

Church members are collecting new and gently used shoes, sandals, work boots and children's shoes. Some in the congregation will remove their shoes during Sunday's services and leave the church barefoot.

Non-church members are invited to participate or drop their donated shoes off at the church office, 4030 Manatee Ave. W, during business hours this week.

Beginning Tuesday, March April 29, the shoes will be made available to the need through these four area organizations:
