More than 300 kids will get a chance to become skilled anglers this summer in Ruskin and Tampa.
The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation is donating $10,000 worth of fishing equipment to the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation department. The equipment will be used during a series of two-week saltwater camps June 16-Aug. 8 at E.G. Simmons Park in Ruskin and Upper Tampa Bay Park in Tampa.
Conservation and sportsmanship also will be emphasized.
The camps are open to boys and girls ages 9 to 15 at is $120 per child, although some income-based scholarships are available. Online registration begins May 7. For more information, call 813-635-3500.
