The prosecution has rested in the trial Barbara Scott.

She is the Polk County woman accused of shooting her husband Benny Scott at their Lake Alfred home in 2012 and then burying his body in an herb garden next to the home.

Prosecutors contend Barbara Scott shot her husband in the head while he was in the shower with a handgun stolen from a relative's home and then lied to friends and relatives for months about Benny Scott's true whereabouts.

The defense has put forward the notion that Benny Scott took his own life because he was in extreme poor health from a heart condition.

But in court on Tuesday, Benny Scott's friends and relatives from his home state of Oklahoma testified that Benny Scott didn't seem down on life during a visit to Oklahoma a few weeks before his death.

"He looked wonderful," testified his sister Janice Whitson.

Prosectors showed the jury pictures of Benny Scott during that visit to Oklahoma.

"I don't care who you were, you couldn't be in a room with Ben and tell he had anything wrong with him," testified longtime friend Harve Dunn.

Benny Scott's son-in-law also testified that a handgun he owned turned up missing after Barbara and Benny Scott had stayed at the home of a relative in Oklahoma. That handgun fired the shot that killed Benny Scott.

Defense attorney's say Barbara Scott still hasn't decided whether to take the stand in her own defense. If she does take the stand, that could happen on Wednesday.
