A Lakeland man is behind bars after deputies said he was involved in a road rage incident in Mulberry on Sunday.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Warren "Chalmers" Orr IV, 25, was a passenger in a vehicle that was leaving the Walmart gas station on Mulberry at about 10:20 a.m.  The vehicle he was in was behind another vehicle that was waiting for traffic to clear before pulling out into the road.

Deputies said the driver of the car Orr was in honked to tell the other car to move, and a passenger in the car responded by saying "Really?" and shrugging his shoulders.

That's when deputies said Orr got out of the vehicle he was in and approached the other car in a threatening manner. However, deputies said the other vehicle left before Orr could reach it.

The vehicle Orr was in caught up with the other vehicle as it was stopped at the light at Shepherd Road and Imperial Parkway. Deputies said Orr got out and approached the vehicle, cursing and wanting to get into a fight.

Orr tried to open the passenger door but it was locked, so he punched the passenger window twice, deputies said.  When one of the passengers rolled down the window slightly to tell Orr she was calling law enforcement, Orr grabbed the top of the window and pulled on it until it shattered, deputies said.

Orr then tried to grab and punch the passenger, but the driver pulled away from the scene before the situation could escalate further, deputies said.

Deputies said the victims do not know Orr and had never had previous contact with him. The victims called deputies who responded to investigate, and they identified Orr as the suspect, the report said.

Orr was arrested on Tuesday on charges of burglary of a conveyance, simple assault and threat to do violence, aggravated stalking and criminal mischief.

Orr was additionally charged with battery (domestic violence) for an unrelated incident that happened between the time of the road rage incident and his arrest on Tuesday.

Deputies said Orr had previously been arrested on March 31 on charges of threatening a public servant, trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.  They said Orr, who was released from jail on April 1, violated his pretrial release conditions.
