A road project in Manatee County needs money after lawmakers rejected funding for it.
Traffic is already backed up at the interchange between I-75 and University Parkway. A new mall set to open there this fall, which will most likely make traffic even worse.
According to our partners at the Bradenton Herald, a legislative committee decided not to give the Florida Department of Transportation the money for the project.
FDOT Secretary Ananth Prasad told the Herald he is going to try to find the money in his department's budget for the project.
