A shed behind a Tampa house was intentionally set on fire Wednesday morning, arson investigators said.

Crews responded to a call about a fire shortly after 9 a.m. When they arrived at the 200 block of S. Malcolm Court, they found a small shed on fire behind the house.

A man sustained minor injuries as a result of the fire. He was treated at the scene.

On Thursday, arson investigators said they determined someone walked through an alley adjacent to the home and went through a chain-link fence to gain access to the property.

The suspect then poured some kind of ignitable liquid on the shed and ignited it, investigators said.

The resulting fire destroyed the shed and its contents. Officials put the estimated damage at $5,500.

In addition, three nearby houses were also damaged by the heat of the fire.

The case is considered first-degree arson because the structure was occupied at the time.
