The Bilmar Beach Resort in Treasure Island has new owners.

According to our partners at the Tampa Bay Times, Clearview Hotel Capital LLC of Newport Beach, Calif., and WHI Real Estate Partners of Chicago jointly bought the resort for $16.4 million.

Right now, the group doesn't have any plans to expand the hotel or its attached restaurants, but that could change in the future.

Amenities are being added to the hotel, Clearview officials said. Guests at the resort will now have access to a beachfront water slide, beach chairs and paddleboards.

This is Clearview's first purchase in Florida. The hotel investment company also owns 10 hotels in Hawaii, California, Louisiana and Texas.
