The family of a 9-year-old girl, likely found dead yesterday, plans to hold a news conference at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Bay News 9 will carry that news conference live.

Temple Terrace Police say the body found near Clearwater's Courtney Campbell Causeway Saturday afternoon is "likely" Felecia.

The Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office has the body and will perform an autopsy today to confirm it is the girl.

Clearwater Police confirmed a naked female's body washed ashore near the 2-mile marker of the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

Public Information Officer Rob Shaw said two people fishing from the shore discovered the body near the north side around 2:00 p.m.

The body was floating alongside the rocks and mangroves near the eastern city limit.

Nicole's family, officers, Hillsborough Sheriff’s deputies, Tampa Police officers and crews with the Temple Terrace Fire Department went door-to-door Saturday looking for the child.

They canvassed the area around the neighborhood, searched by air, searched a golf course and the nearby Hillsborough River.

She went missing Friday from the Doral Oaks Apartments on Tanglewood Place.

The girl's mother in Ybor City was contacted. Her sisters, cousins and grandmother aided in the search.

Police say a godmother picked up the girl from her Tampa home Friday afternoon and took her to the Doral Oaks apartment.

Dunn said the godmother was "cooperative" during questioning, but police would not release her name.

After the godmother took a shower at the apartment, she discovered Williams was missing, and called police.

The girl's older sister says it all just doesn't make sense.

"She would never, never, never leave, never never wander off. She didn't have a reason to. She goes to friends' houses, but that's about it. She comes back. She would never leave someplace that's not familiar," said sister Shakelia Givens.

Dunn said he doesn't believe any other children are in danger and that this is an "isolated" incident.

He said the investigators are following up on a number of different leads.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a missing child alert for Williams, describing her as 4-foot-5 inches tall and 100 pounds.

She was wearing a black and green striped shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information about Felecia Williams should contact the Temple Terrace Police Department at (813) 989-7110 or call 911.
