A fire at the RockTenn recycling center prompted the evacuation of Middleton High School Wednesday morning.

The fire started shortly after 10:45 a.m.

The fire has since been contained and the students allowed back in the school.

The students were not in danger and were evacuated as a precaution, according to a district spokesperson.

Crews said the fire was fueled by unfavorable winds and tons of paper products.

More than 80 firefighters from four different agencies fought the flames.

Damage was contained to the paper piles. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
