Four people were seriously injured Monday night in a crash involving a truck pulling a horse trailer and a sport utility vehicle on I-75 in Pasco County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi-tractor trailering a horse trailer with four horses experienced a blow out around 7 p.m. just south of State Road 52. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then jackknifed into the 2000 Toyota SUV.

The impact caused the SUV to overturn multiple times, troopers said.

All four people involved were seriously injured and transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. They were identified as 36-year-old Rex Keen Jr., and his 6-year-old son, Rex Keene III, of San Antonio from the semi-truck and 56-year-old Marcia Patterson and 10-year-old Max Patterson of Largo from the SUV.

The four horses being transported were not injured.
