A car wash is being held Saturday to raise money for the funeral expenses and children of one of the victims in last weekend's triple homicide in south Lakeland.
Jamie Young was a good friend of victim Danyala Smith and organized the car wash at Advance Auto Parts, 3315 U.S. 98, Lakeland. It runs until 6 p.m.
Authorities say Smith, her partner Miranda Mims and their friend Nikosi Williams were killed by David Eugene Smith, Danyala's brother. David Smith died Tuesday in Knoxville, Tenn., from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
