NRC wants more info from Duke on plant decommissioning

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission wants more information from Duke Energy on cost projections and spent fuel management for decommissioning the Crystal River nuclear plant.

According to the Citrus County Chronicle, the agency is reviewing the Post-Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report submitted in December.

The report includes a description and a schedule for decommissioning activities and their estimated cost. But additional questions came up from the public at a meeting in January.
