A man convicted of killing his estranged wife and her 5-year-old son is scheduled to die June 18 at Florida State Prison in Starke.

Gov. Rick Scott signed a death warrant Friday for 63-year-old John R. Henry.

Court records show that Henry went to Suzanne Henry's Pasco County home in December 1985. Following an argument, John Henry stabbed her repeatedly in the throat with a kitchen knife. Henry then took the woman's 5-year old son, Eugene Christian, to an isolated area in Hillsborough County, where he stabbed the child in the throat.

Henry received a death sentence for each murder, but next month's execution applies only to Suzanne Henry's.

Henry was previously convicted in 1975 of fatally stabbing his first wife, Patricia Roddy. He had been out of prison for three years when he killed Suzanne Henry and her son.
