The pre-sale of four new Florida specialty license plates begins July 1.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the state requires 1,000 pre-orders before production of the plates can begin. Each plate raises money for the sponsoring organization.

The new specialty plates approved by Gov. Rick Scott are "Fallen Law Enforcement Officers," "Florida Sheriffs Association," "Keiser University," and "Moffitt Cancer Center."

Florida sold and renewed 1.35 million specialty tags in 2013. That's up nearly 14,000 from 2012, but still well off from 1.62 million purchased in 2009, according to the Times.
