The investigation into the Manatee County School District financial practices has been called off.

The Florida Department of Education, Office of the Inspector General says no further investigation is needed.

Their review targeted the 2012-2013 school year when the district fell millions of dollars in debt.

Several audits uncovered more than $10 million in questionable funding.

The problems led to the resignation of then school Superintendent Time McGonegal.

Current Superintendent Rick Mills says he respects the inspector general's decision.
