The pilot of a small plane walked away unharmed after the aircraft wound up in a pond at Pilot Country in Pasco County.

According to the Pasco Sheriff's Office, the 1958 Cessna 172 was traveling on the runway at Pilot Country when it ended up in a retention pond.

Units at the scene of the crash said the plane never got into the air, and that the pilot, Stephen Barton, was not injured.

No one else was in the plane at the time.

Officials said the plane leaked about two gallons of fuel into the pond, which is located at the front of the airport.
