Six children were sent to the hospital, one of them airlifted, after a head-on collision in Palmetto.
According to Manatee County Fire Rescue, the crash happened around 3 p.m. in an area along Moccasin Wallow Road three miles east of Interstate 75 and west of U.S. 301.
Officials believe the collision may have been caused by a reckless driver.
Five children were rushed to the hospital by ambulance while another was airlifted to the hospital.
Their injuries are not life-threatening.
