For the next couple of weeks, a short educational movie by Withlacoochee Forestry Center-Florida Forest Service will be playing before the showing of Planes: Fire and Rescue.

In an attempt to increase fire safety awareness, the movie portrays the heroic work of Florida Forest Service and other wild land firefighting agencies. While the movie is played inside, firefighters are outside selected theaters showcasing what they do to the public through their equipment.

Florida Forest official Kawika Bailey says events like this are important.

"The majority of our fires in Florida are due to either arson or man-made fires that escape or piles that escape,"  said Bailey.

To make things a bit familiar for the young kids, firefighters placed eyes on the trucks and made them speak.

Parents who came out to the event say it makes it easier for their kids to learn.

"It's a fun way to teach them at the same time we are learning,"  said Conchcanty’Jones
