Friends and family of Nicole Brennan, 21, took to the field at Nature Coast Technical High School Monday night to honor her in one of the places she loved the best.

Brennan was killed in a hit-and-run accident near Orlando over the weekend.

She had been attending Valencia College and had been accepted to the University of Central Florida.

Her high school teachers describe her as an eager student who loved to learn. Brennan played soccer all four years of high school. Her coaches said she was the type of player who brought everyone together.

More than 100 people attended the vigil. They brought posters, prayed, talked about Brennan and lit candles in her honor.

Family members cried openly at the outpouring of support. They said her death is hitting them particularly hard because one of the drivers involved still hasn't been caught or come forward.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Brennan had stepped out of her car after being involved in an accident at the intersection of Colonial Drive and Lake Pickett Road early Sunday morning.

Troopers said she was hit by a pickup truck and then by a minivan. Both drivers left the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck eventually came back and turned himself in but the other driver didn't.

Troopers said they're looking for the driver of a red minivan which will likely have damage to the front bumper and undercarriage.
