Employees and customers of a Ridge Manor bar are pitching in after fire tore through the watering hole early Monday morning.

Fire broke out at the Lighthouse, located on Tremain Boulevard, shortly before 2 a.m. Monday. On Tuesday, the employees and customers gathered to clean up the place.

Bartender Emily Schafer was among them. When she was homeless, the owners of the bar gave her a job.

"They gave me something when I had nothing so I'm going to give back.," she said. "We are taking care of it. Got a lot of people who love the place. They don't want to see it shutdown permanently."

The bar is a family-owned business and it has been around for 34 years.

Investigators have not released much information, but they have said they are investigating the fire as arson. Investigators said the fire was started with several cans of gas.

The sheriff's office says they do have a possible suspect but can't release a name right now.

Longtime customer Jeff Buchanan is upset that someone would set the bar on fire, which is why he showed up to help.

"This morning my phone rang and here I am," he said.

The owners of the bar say they are very thankful for all the help.
