Bay area residents can expect another round of strong showers and thunderstorms Tuesday.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, the heating of the day combined with the developing seabreeze will create increasing chances of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon.

"There's an upper level low along the northern Gulf coast and a ridge of high pressure in the Atlantic," Marquez said. "There is deep moisture in place and slow-moving thunderstorms will lead to the potential of some high rainfall amounts today."

Rain chances are 60 percent Tuesday with high temperatures expected to peak around 90 degrees.

According to Marquez, some of the thunderstorms will linger through the evening then it will be partly cloudy overnight.

Meanwhile, a tropical depression in the central Atlantic is expected to weaken by midweek and is no threat to Florida.
