Partly sunny conditions will deteriorate by the afternoon as showers and thunderstorms develop and move east today.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, the best chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms will be this afternoon.

"There will be isolated showers along the coast during the morning hours," Marquez said. "But as we go through the day, the best chance for showers and storms will be inland."

Conditions will be warm and muggy as afternoon temperatures approach 91 degrees

Rain chances will remain at about 40 percent the rest of the workweek.

Meanwhile, Tropical Depression 2 continues to move west but is no threat to Florida and is expected to weaken Thursday.
