The Federal Aviation Administration is extending its ban on flights between the U.S. and Israel for another 24 hours.

The flights were canceled Tuesday after a rocked fired from the Gaza Strip landed near Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion Airport.

The notice only applies to U.S. airlines since the FAA has no authority over carriers from other nations.

U.S. airlines acted ahead of the FAA Tuesday and indefinitely canceled all future flights to and from Israel.
