A 6-year-old boy on a scooter that was struck by an SUV earlier this week has died from his injuries.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Yves Zamora died Friday from injuries suffered in the crash on Tuesday.

Deputies said Zamora was riding his micro push Huffy scooter in a driveway at the University Area Harvest Hope Center at 13704 N. 20th Street in Tampa.

Zamora entered the roadway into the path of a southbound Nissan Xterra. The driver of the Nissan, Jack Bradley, swerved left and attempted to avoid the crash, but was unable to do so.

Zamora was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he remained in critical condition for several days.

At this time, Bradley is not facing charges.
