The people of St. Petersburg got the chance to chat with their new chief at an unofficial meet and greet on Saturday.

Dozens of people voiced their neighborhood concerns to Chief Anthony Holloway and what they wanted to see from the police department.

"Some more interaction between the business community and the police," said St. Pete resident Tim Burke. "I think the police can have a big influence on bringing certain businesses to the neighborhoods to make a positive in the residential part of the neighborhood.”

"We've had problems with the children in our community trusting law enforcement, so hopefully he can bring that reconnection back," said St. Pete resident Maya Thomas.

"We've had problems in the past with drugs and prostitution and the police have been wonderful to help us combat that and we want to see that continue,” said St. Pete resident Lynn Hurtack.

Chief Holloway says he plans to use the "park, walk and talk" tactic for officers. The idea is to get officers to park their vehicles, walk the beat and talk to the people about their concerns and issues.
