There's an app for just about everything, including several for your health.

But should you trust them? Experts say it depends.

Apps that keep track of your exercise or calorie intake are fine. But if you're using an app to manage insulin doses, misinformation can be dangerous.

The Food and Drug Administration says it has approved about 100 apps. But those apps have not been tested as thoroughly as new drugs and medical devices. So FDA is advising anyone using an app in association with a serious medical condition to talk it over with his or her doctor.

Study of impulses could help dieters

There's probably a reason why it's hard for you to say no to certain foods.

Scientists say it has to do with your brain. In a recent study, people who caved into food cravings showed more activity in the reward region of their brains. And people who controlled cravings had more activity in the self-control region of their brains.

Experts say this finding can help treat people with eating disorders or help people who struggle with their diet in general.
