Expectant mothers won't have to worry about losing health services after Citrus Memorial Hospital is leased.

According to the Citrus County Chronicle, the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation board voted this week to buy Genesis Women's Center in Inverness. That will ensure that obstetric and gynecological services remain at the hospital.

Four physicians at the center, plus staffers, will be given Citrus Memorial employment. The center, across from Citrus High School in the Highland Medical Court, remains open and Citrus Memorial will carry the lease out.

The Citrus Memorial Health Foundation, which leases the hospital from the Citrus County Hospital Board, is required to provide obstetric services. Hospital Corporation of America, which is negotiating a 50-year lease of the hospital, is committed to continuing those services for at least seven years, the Chronicle reported.
