A motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning in a crash near the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Habana Avenue.
According to the Tampa police, motorcyclist Charrise Tosha Griffith-Melendez was heading south when she collided with a van that was pulling onto Habana Avenue from an apartment complex.
Griffith-Melendez, 37, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, which is next to the crash location, where she died.
The driver of the van, Enrique Acosta, 76, was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
