The vacant Universal Health Care building in downtown St. Pete is back on the market.

The developer who placed a more than $10 million bid on the building has backed out, according to our partners at the Tampa Bay Times.

The initial plan was to fill the building with retail stores. It already has six floors of parking, then they planned on expanding the building.

But because the city owns four of the six floors of parking, the developer would not have complete control of the project. Therefore he backed out.
