Tampa police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that killed an 11-year-old girl on Friday night.
According to reports, the crash occurred at 15th St and E. Osborne Ave 9:48 p.m. in Tampa.
Police said the girl was walking down the street when she was hit. She was dragged down the block, authorities said.
The girl was transported to Tampa General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died shortly after.
Authorities believe the driver is in an older (late 80's-early 90's) white panel van that fled the area.
All westboung lanes at Hillsborough Ave E and 15th St N are closed. Officials ask that motorists avoid the area.
