A man was arrested early Sunday after authorities found a 10-year-old boy locked inside his truck in a bar parking lot.
Pasco County Sheriff's detectives responded to the Happy Dayz Bar at 12401 U.S. 301 in Dade City around 12:30 a.m. to investigate a report of a child hiding in a locked vehicle.
When deputies found the truck, the boy wouldn't open the door because he said he'd been told not to.
The boy told deputies that Raymond Keith Ellison, 31, had instructed him to hide from anyone passing by. Ellison then went into the bar to drink.
Ellison was taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center and charged with felony child neglect. The boy was turned over to relatives.
A news release didn't say whether the boy was Ellison's son.
