Big changes this year in the Pasco County school district are expected to make busing a smoother experience for both students and their parents.

A transportation call center has been set up at the district offices in Land O' Lakes.  More than 100 volunteers will be on hand to answer calls that come in on 40 phone lines from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. each morning and from 2 to 6 p.m. each evening for the first two weeks of school.

The volunteers will be taking calls from parents concerned about their child's bus arrival time and answering all questions regarding bus routes.

"This is all about customer service," said Ray Bonti, Executive Director of Support Services.  "We want to be able to communicate with our parents and our parents want to know exactly where the buses are, if the buses are running late."
