A Zephyrhills man was arrested Monday afternoon after deputies said he shot and killed his roommate during an argument.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Joshua Moore, 26, was shot just after 9 a.m. at a home in the 36000 block of Valleybrook Avenue.

When deputies arrived, they found Moore suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was flown by helicopter to an area hospital, where he died a short time later.

David Brian Usry, 35, is facing second-degree murder charges in Moore's death. Deputies said Usry and Moore lived at the same home.

Deputies said Moore had gotten into an argument with Usry's mother on Monday morning. The argument ended and Usry's mother drove away in her car.

Ursy then confronted Moore and started arguing with him, eventually shooting Moore in the stomach, deputies said.

Usry is being held at the Land O' Lakes Detention Center.

The shooting remains under investigation.
