The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the two women killed Monday in a house fire.
According to deputies, 71-year-old Virginia Jones and her 51-year-old daughter Michelle Hayes died in the fire in their home in the 4000 block of Burkett Circle in Tampa shortly before 4 p.m.
Neighbors said Jones lived at the house with Hayes, who was caring for her mother.
A man also lived at the house, according to neighbors, but he was out running errands when this happened. The cause of the fire is under investigation though neighbors said they heard explosions, possibly from oxygen tanks.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials said they are still awaiting lab results regarding samples collected from the scene.
Autopsies were performed on the two women on Tuesday. The Medical Examiners office will release those results.
