When 11-year-old Bryson Poole and his 9-year-old brother Blake aren't playing video games, they're helping to find a cure to save their mom who has been living with ALS.

"It's hard but our mom knows how to fight through it and she'll always make the best of it," said Bryson Poole.

Belinda Poole was diagnosed with ALS in 2004.

"We have to go around getting all the dishes and clean our rooms and all of this and sometimes we help with the laundry," said Blake Poole.

But their quest to help their mom doesn’t stop with household chores, they started a charity, “Kid’s Quest for Charity.”

They’ve collected more than $3,000 to raise awareness and find a cure. They say the ice bucket challenge for ALS has helped to bring the disease to the forefront.

"It's awesome because we know it might be the finishing blow to get rid of this disease," said Bryson.

"When we saw that, we were astonished all these people are doing this for ALS," said Blake.

The ice bucket challenge has raised more than $30 million for ALS.

The Florida chapter has also benefited. They told us today donations are almost double what they usually are this time of year.
