The Bay News 9 weather team is keeping an eye on an area of low pressure located several hundred miles east of the southern Windward Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.

"Right now, the Caribbean is very quiet," Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez said. "Same thing with the Gulf of Mexico, with an area of high pressure in place. But this area in the Atlantic is going to need to be monitored over the next couple of days. Even though nothing is organized right now, a lot of the computer models are hinting at some development over the next few days."

The computer models are not in agreement on the system's track, Marquez noted. Some have it moving south of Hispaniola, some have it veering north and still others have it moving toward the mountainous island.
